Meet Our Doctor
Dr. Kerry Hyman
I became an optometrist because I love helping people see more clearly, but after nearly 10 years in practice, I’ve learned that exceptional eye care is about much more than vision.
It’s about feeling heard, having time to ask questions, and understanding your eye health while feeling confident in the care you receive.
After years of practicing in ophthalmology and caring for patients with both routine and complex eye conditions, I saw firsthand how easily those things can get lost in modern healthcare. I also became increasingly drawn to the treatment of dry eye and ocular surface disease. These conditions are incredibly common, yet they are often overlooked despite the significant impact they can have on vision, comfort, and quality of life.
That experience has shaped dry eye care into an important focus of my practice. I believe these patients deserve more than simply being told to use artificial tears. Understanding why someone is experiencing symptoms—and identifying the underlying factors contributing to them—allows me to create a more individualized, comprehensive approach to treatment.
I opened The Eye Collective to bring that same philosophy to every aspect of eye care.
A place where advanced technology enhances—not replaces—the doctor-patient relationship. Where every recommendation is thoughtful, individualized, and based on what is best for the person sitting in front of me. Where education, prevention, and trust are just as important as treating disease.
As a Winter Park native, opening The Eye Collective in my hometown has been especially meaningful. It has given me the opportunity to care for the community that helped shape me while creating the kind of practice I always envisioned—one built on genuine relationships, clinical excellence, and personalized care.
I also believe in advancing our profession beyond the exam room. As President of the Central Florida Society of Optometric Physicians, I’m honored to collaborate with fellow doctors, advocate for the future of eye care, and help elevate the standard of care throughout our community.
My goal is simple: for every patient to leave feeling more informed, more confident, and genuinely cared for.
Because exceptional eye care should always feel personal.
